We took a boat ride along this section of the Myakka River.

We were just south of the Myakka River State Park

While we were on the Myakka we went past &quot;Bird Island&quot;. Bird Island is a small island that is covered with nesting birds. Mostly wood storks but there were also great egrets and cormorants.

We also saw a Great Blue Heron nesting high in a tree.

The Myakka River is full of wildlife.
